Gypsy Creations by Shar

One of my “goals” as it were, when starting my Blog was to recognize and support the incredibly talented women whom I am so grateful to call my friends. With that in mind, I created a category named “My Awesome, Talented Friends.” And they are. And I am stunned by their talents. I am in awe of their talents. I’m hoping to showcase as many of my friends as possible. At least once a month I plan to interview and post pictures of their work and/or creations. I might just say that not all of these friends are artists or crafters, though many are. Some can build chicken coops and green houses and raise food grade bugs! Some, by shear determination can plan and stage a Festival. Some are able to raise enough food to can and freeze to feed their families for years. Some are Community Volunteers dedicated to supporting and nurturing today’s youth to be tomorrows outstanding citizens. Many of these friends create outside of their full time employment. Many pursue their talents full time at home or by stealing hours from caring for their own families. I respect and love them all. And yes, those remarkable Artists and Jewelers and Writers and Weavers and women who Crochet and, and ,and, and……..

Yes, I am surrounded by incredible strong, intelligent, beautiful, awesome, talented women and I hope you all enjoy reading about them as much as I enjoy sharing them with you!

Meet Sharon, my awesome, talented creator of jewelry friend. I was going to interview Sharon for this piece but she wrote me a note that sums herself up so well I decided to publish it as written.

I first met Shar in 2005, when we sat next to each other as RN Case Managers for an insurance company. I tell ya, it was love at first laugh and we’re still laughing across the world. Her talent amazes me. I wear earrings every single day of my life and I bet that 4/7 days I wear Sharon made gems. She knows me so well and each piece was created with her talent and my taste in mind. A few years ago I told Sharon I had this dress to wear for a wedding and asked her that knowing me and her talents, what could she create that would reflect her creativity and my character. It was perfect!

The Amethyst were stunning with the purple fitted dress. She knows me so well!

But what truly sets Shar apart is her generosity of spirit. Whether it’s a friend in need or an animal charity or someone struggling with cancer, Sharon has donated hundreds of pieces of her jewelry to be auctioned off and the proceeds going wherever they are needed. And she never says a word. Now that, is awesome.

I was "gifted" these beautiful bracelets!

Here’s Sharon in her own words.

I have always been an artist whether it was painting, sculpting, photography, stained glass creations. I started making yard ”jewelry” for the trees and shrubs in my yard. I branched out to making human jewelry in 2007.  I started by making earrings and memory bracelets for myself to match my outfits for my office job as a case manager. The other nurses that I worked with complimented my designs and asked if I would make bracelets and earrings for them as well. That was the beginning of Gypsy Creations by Shar. I chose Gypsy as that was my nickname given to me by my dad. Also, my designs are eclectic and one of a kind.  I like to design around a person’s personality when I am doing a special order. I also have designed and created beautiful wedding jewelry for brides, bridesmaids, mother of the bride and mother of the groom. I am honored when a bride chooses me to design for her for her special day.

Amethyst and Copper. I own this one too with matching earrings.

What inspires me to design…sometimes it’s a dream I may have had, or something beautiful I have seen in nature. My pieces reflect freedom and originality…one of a kind just as we each are one of a kind.

    Hi!!! I am also a proud wearer of Sharon’s amazing designs! We worked together as Rn’s for a few years and her jeweler was always such a beautiful hit. Sharon’s generosity of spirit is wide known, she donates to many causes with heartfelt work and beautiful smile. I urge everyone to get at least one or two pieces so you can fully admire her creative genius and truly eclectic style. Wish I knew how to take and upload pics so I could show off my gorgeous collection. Truly a wonderful gift to give someone special on a special occasion;
