Yummy Cream Cheese Veggie Spread

February 23, 2017 by Karen Giebel 4 Comments

Have you ever gone into a wonderful Bagel Shop and picked out a sack of freshly made Bagels for your family or to take into work? I have many, many times because nothing is so wonderful for breakfast than a nice crispy toasted Bagel with a schmear….Oh wait. About that schmear. Wow! Are they ever expensive! $5.97 or a small plastic container of Cream Cheese with some goodies in it. Then I got smart and started making my own. Easy Peasy. Nothing to it. In just minutes you’ll have a delectable Cream Cheese Spread that is better than anything in the Bagel Shop because you made it fresh by yourself. Trust me. You will never buy this spread again. It is simply amazing!

Ready? Here’s what you’ll need.

1-8oz package of Cream Cheese at room temperature

1- TBSP finely minced Celery

1-TBSP finely minced Green Pepper

1-TBSP finely grated Carrot

1-TBSP finely minced peeled and seeded Cucumber

1-Tbsp finely minced Sun Dried Tomato

A few shakes of Seasoned Salt to taste.

** I usually add some finely minced Black Olives but I didn’t want to open a jar just for this today, but feel free!

Method:

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients well. Let set for 15 min to blend flavors. Then taste and add more Seasoned Salt if needed. Then split and toast your favorite Bagel. While hot from the toaster, butter if you like and generously add the Veggie Spread. That’s it. Mangia!

Told you it was easy!

PS: This Spread also makes a wonderful Tortilla roll up. Just spread it on a 8 inch Flour Tortilla, roll ‘er up and there ya go!

As usual, thanks so much for stopping by and letting me share some of my favorite recipes with you.

Wherever your Journey leads you today, I hope you will stop to nourish body and soul with a bite of  home made deliciousness.

Journey on!

Hugs and much love from me,

Karen, TJG

      Hi Pat,

Thanks for commenting and yes, it is amazing! Even more amazing now that I made one minor ( ahem) correction. I got my “Green” mixed up. I did NOT use Green ONION in this, I used Green PEPPER. I used Green Onion in the Egg Drop Soup I made yesterday and my poor befuddled brain got confused.

Hope you try it and enjoy it too.

      Hugs,

      Karen, TJG
