The Good Wife ( wink, wink)

November 30, 2015 by Karen Giebel 5 Comments

I’m a Nurse and a Mother. That means I have an incredibly heightened sense of observation. Ya know what I mean? Nothing, and I repeat, NOTHING, gets by me. I’m also a fairly new, newlywed, so I’m keenly aware of Dan, my man.

That is until yesterday when Sparky said, “I shaved my beard off 4 days ago and you have yet to notice.”

Me: Ahhhh…..ummmmm……hmmmm, you JUST shaved it off and you’re trying to trick me!

Sparky: You hate my beard and you’re always asking me to shave. So I did and you didn’t notice.

Me: ( Starting to squirm and choking back laughter). I Love your beard honey. You didn’t have to shave for me.

Sparky: You didn’t notice.

Me: Thinking (” There ain’t no way I’m getting out of this one.”) Ummm, how about some proof you shaved 4 days ago?

Sparky: Pictures never lie.

                                                        And me…CLUELESS for 4 days!

I tired hard to justify my honest mistake this morning by telling Dan that I didn’t notice the change because his beard and his face are the same color……White. He wasn’t buying it.

Sparky: (Laughing) That train has already done left the station babe. You aren’t getting on board now.

EVERYBODY SING ” Love and Marriage, Love and Marriage, go together like a horse and carriage!” Keep laughing!

Same thing has happened to me more than once unfortunately!! Thomas never misses a change just to make me feel worse but I tell him I just love you for your eyes and body and don’t go past there looking!!! He didn’t really believe me but like the “smile” on the explanation!!
