The ingredients. After 55 years the only change I made was to add a touch of Poultry Seasoning
Tear up and layer FOUR slices of bread in a 10x14 pan.
Mince and dice the Celery and Onion
Combine the diced Chicken, Celery and Onion with the Salad Dressing and place it evenly over the broken bread.
Cover this with 4 more slices of torn bread. Sprinkle evenly with Salt, Pepper and Poultry Seasoning
Whisk the 3 Eggs with the Milk until well combined and then pour this over the casserole. At this point you can cover and refrigerate over night. Or,...let it sit for a few minutes and go ahead and bake which is what I do.
Bake uncovered at 350° for 1 hour. Remove from oven
Dot and spread the Casserole with the Cream of Chicken Soup.
Then top with the Cheddar Cheese. Return to the oven for another 15 minutes until the Cheese is melted. Then serve! Nothing better!
Yum. YUm. YUM!
My friends....Thank you so much for stopping by today. I wish you were all here having a cup of Constant Comment Tea with me and sharing your favorites childhood memories.
Wherever your Journey leads you today, I wish you all warm childhood memories, a comforting casserole and hope for the future.
